The Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority (ADAA) is an independent body that operates directly under the authority of the Ruler of Abu Dhabi. The ADAA is responsible for overseeing all financial control, accountability, integrity, and transparency across all Abu Dhabi government entities and institutions. The ADAA's mandate is to ensure fair and transparent financial reporting and improve the quality of financial statement integrity and accountability.
The ADAA has recently announced the adoption of the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA) Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants in Abu Dhabi. The Code will be applicable to all entities subject to ADAA's mandate for audits of financial statements, whether local or international, in which the Abu Dhabi government has a vested interest of over 25%. The adoption of the IESBA Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants in Abu Dhabi is a historic commitment to ethics and the public interest, and it will elevate the quality of audit and promote the principles of accountability, transparency, and integrity across all Abu Dhabi government entities and institutions.
