The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA), also known as SEWA, is a government utility in the Emirate of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. It provides electricity, water, and natural gas to approximately 300,000 consumers and operates 35 branches. Since 2020, H.E. Saeed Sultan Al Suwaidi has served as the chairman of SEWA. The authority was initially a private company called Sharjah Electricity & Water Resources Company before becoming part of the Sharjah government and being renamed the Electricity and Water Department. Over time, it evolved into a financially and administratively independent entity. SEWA also owns a bottled drinking water subsidiary named Zulal. The authority has witnessed significant development and actively participates in events to reaffirm its commitment to effective and continuous communication with different community sectors and the adoption of new ideas to enhance its services.

SEWA operates various water generation plants in the UAE, primarily desalination plants, including the Layyah Plant, Hamriya Plant (new and old), Khorfakkan, Kalba, Abu Mussa, Seir Bu Neir & Zubair, Sharjah Well Fields, and Khorfakkan Well Fields. The authority has also been involved in digital transformation efforts and the development of services using the latest technology to exceed the expectations of investors and stakeholders. Additionally, SEWA offers e-services such as bill inquiry, account registration, and payment methods through its online portal. The authority has also developed mobile applications to provide convenient access to its services, including SEWA MGR and SEWA Smart.
